The edition comes with a wooden frame, crafted by herman de vries’ studio using ash wood (Fraxinus excelsior) from the Steigerwald — a forest surrounding his workshop.
herman chose this material deliberately for its connection to Eschenau, the town where he lives; the name refers to a riverside landscape where many ash trees grow.
