ContinueThe maximalist tablescapes of Kate Pincus-Whitney are so mouthwatering, it comes as no surprise that we’re going in for seconds with this vivacious LA-based artist.
To the left, the titular bottle of St John’s Bourgogne wine topples anticipatingly over a candlelit flurry of flowers, fruit and pork chops. A hefty stack of books – ‘Women of the Golden Dawn’ by Mary K. Greer, ‘The Kybalion’ and Victoria Jenkins’ ‘Visions of the Occult’, as well as Aldolus Huxeley’s ‘The Doors of Perception’ and Thoreau’s ‘Faith in a Seed’ – all share a common theme of mysticism, esoteric knowledge and metaphysical exploration.
To the right, a tagine lid reveals its colourful contents alongside a chilled bottle of the British summer classic, Pimm’s, leaning against refreshing cucumber cocktails. But the real star of the show is a Hilma af Klint catalogue, titled ‘Paintings for the Temple’ – Kate’s tablescapes are a testament to the art of reference.
Without compromising on the finest details of this bursting tablescape, these unique limited editions bring together two halves of one painting – so you can enjoy them separately or next to each other, as one.
