This year, street artists are shaking things up at the Petit Palais, colliding bold, modern creations with the museum’s classical paintings and sculptures.

Ever heard of post-black art? Well, if you haven’t – the work of Rashid Johnson is a great place to start. His conceptual works explore individual and shared cultural identities, as well as philosophy, materiality, and critical history.

These sensual abstract works seem to dance and wrestle on the canvas, evoking the feeling of untamed, primordial passion.

Moffat Takadiwa | Semiose

In Harare, Zimbabwe, there exists an informal economy of trading in recyclable materials like old electronic goods and discarded plastic. Takadiwa transforms these materials into intricate art objects using a decolonial approach – one of his works is even in the collection of Jay-Z!

Keita Morimoto | Long Story Short

Morimoto’s cinematic paintings seem to capture a fleeting moment as a meticulously painted movie still.

Lynn Chadwick | Hôtel de Sully & Perrotin Paris 

Lynn Chadwick was one of the most significant sculptors of the twentieth century, alongside Alberto Giacometti, Henry Moore, and Louise Bourgeois. This exhibition marks the first extensive display of his work in France since 1957, with two more chapters planned in New York in 2025 and Asia exploring different periods of his career. Chapter 1 will kick off in Paris at the Centre des Monuments Nationaux – Hôtel de Sully and Perrotin featuring sixty key works by Lynn Chadwick that highlight his unique style and rise to international acclaim.
