UNSEEN 2024 is an art fair and the event for cutting edge contemporary photography that presents more than 65 international galleries with the most up-and-coming contemporary artists and artworks of today’s photography scene. Not sure where to start? With this Art Fix guide you’ll hit our 10 highlights of Unseen.

THE FLOORPLAN

THE GALLERIES

Galerie Fontana

We can’t get enough of Ruud Van Empel’s ‘Floresta’ series of larger-than-life digital collages. Get lost in the details!

Contour Gallery | Emile Gostelie, Tjitske Oosterholt, Jan Pypers

Jan Pypers’ photographs are a callback to the dioramas of old museums, that seem to mourn our lost connection with nature and the animal kingdom.

Spazio Nuovo | Dan Hallman, Giuseppe Lo Schiavo, Juan Baraja

All the way from Italy, Spazio Nuovo brings a breath of fresh air to Unseen. Feel the salty summery breeze through Giuseppe Lo Schiavo’s ‘Windowscapes’ and the immaculateness of Juan Baraja’s tropical details.

Art Fix tip: Remember our spring event with American minimalist Dan Hallman? Head over to Spazio Nuovo where his works can be found, inviting you into the void.

Galerie Caroline O’Breen | Tanja Engelberts, Mounir Raji, misha de ridder

Find a series of warm photographs documenting humans, nature and textures though the artworks of Tanja Engelberts, Mounir Raji and Misha de Ridder. The level of intimacy is central.

Roof-A Gallery | Sjoerd Knibbeler, Marjan Teeuwen, Daan Zuijderwijk

Bringing together three artists – Sjoerd Knibbeler, Marjan Teeuwen and Daan Zuijderwijk – this booth is set to be gritty, affecting and unflinching.

Bildhalle | Joost Vandebrug

Joost Vandebrug takes over at Bildhalle – his solo exhibition will unveil premier works that toy with memory, materials, and the natural world.

Kersgallery | Raquel van Haver, Marisol Mendez, Thania Petersen, Nanouk Prins

Here you’ll find vibrant, collage-like works by Thania Petersen and Raquel van Haver, alongside Nanouk Prins’ natural landscapes.

Annet Gelink Gallery | Ed van der Elsken, Bertien van Manen, Robby Müller

This year, Annet Gelink Gallery’s booth is all about the cinematic shots of Robby Müller and grainy snapshots of everyday life in the 70s by Bertien van Manen.

Galerie Ron Mandos | Daniel Arsham, Erwin Olaf, Shen Wei, Vincent Zanni

Daniel Arsham is celebrated for his textural sculptures, but here you’ll see his lesser-known photographic works, alongside that of Vincent Zanni, Shen Wei and the late Erwin Olaf.

Stevenson | Viviane Sassen

Can’t get enough of this weekend’s opening at Foam? Lucky for you, Stevenson is also presenting a selection of works by Dutch fashion photography giant Viviane Sassen.

Homecoming Gallery | Mia Weiner

We loved Weiner’s photographs on hand-woven tapestries, which moved gently as the visitors of Unseen walked past them.

Browse Unseen’s online catalogue here, which shows all works presented at the fair – the perfect way to prepare for your visit.
