About Art Fix - ART FIX
ART FIX -THE NEW WAY OF LEARNING

What is Art Fix?

Art Fix is an online art platform. Our mission is to make contemporary art accessible and exciting to all, showing that every work has a story behind it that’s just waiting to be told. We're here to share these inside stories and secrets of contemporary art and the art market.

Created with the intention of helping friends, and friends of those friends, understand contemporary art and form their own opinions about the art world, Art Fix is an episode-based, online learning platform, out to demystify the world of contemporary art and make it more accessible through better storytelling.

Behind every great artwork is a great story. When we shared these stories with our friends, a glimmer came to their eyes. The more they heard, the more they began to recognize, follow, and enjoy contemporary art. We’re here to give you that ‘fix’, to empower you to ask those questions, and to democratize the way contemporary art is understood, discussed, and perhaps even owned!

Ingrid

Ingrid Heideman -ART FIX

After her career in fashion, Ingrid began collecting art together with her husband. Inspired by contemporary art, Ingrid started the Instagram account @artwithgrid, a passion project where she writes about the stories behind the artworks she encounters. Weary of the academic and closed-doors conversation surrounding art, Ingrid wanted to disrupt this inaccessibility and help bring the insights and secrets to more people

Ingrid’s favorite artist right now:
“My favorite artist at the moment is JR – instead of just talking about making the world a better place, he uses his art to literally do so. On the streets and in museums, JR uses human interaction and activism in a gentle, but compelling and persuasive way. Eye-catching, humorous, daring, caring, and challenging, but always respecting culture with a lot of emotional intelligence.”

Yvette van Caldenborgh -ART FIX

It were those visits to New York with her dad in the 80s – think Studio 54, Andy Warhol and Leo Castelli — that formed the basis of a lifelong love for contemporary art. After completing her masters in art history, Yvette realized how much the art world is enriched by storytelling. It has the power to bring artworks to life. Alongside her role as a board member of museum Voorlinden, Yvette wants to share her passion for contemporary art through Art Fix.

Yvette’s favorite artist right now:
“My favorite artist?! I have so many. But if I have to give two it would be Antony Gormley of course… he is the best storyteller I know and Njideka Akunyili Crosby. I love it that her work is intimate and personal. So many stories are coming to life in her collage paintings. It gives us a glimpse into her world and she is a real family (wo)man like myself.”

Tara
Advaney

Tara Advaney -ART FIX

Having grown up with contemporary art all around her, Tara knew that art would find her one way or another in her life: though she could never have imagined that she’d be helping two amazing women bring the contemporary art world to life through online episodes. When Tara’s not ‘Art Fixing,’ she’s helping grow businesses on Facebook and Instagram.

Tara’s favorite artists right now:
“My favourite works are Gideon Rubin’s “White Shirt”, and Eva & Adele, the living bald couple that frequent art fairs around the world. Talk about artworks that come alive. The best thing about the art world is its unpredictability; I wish more parts of life were like that.”
